West Vancouver, B.C. – Capilano Golf and Country Club in West Vancouver, B.C. (Canada), will host many of the top amateur golfers in the world this week for the 56th Pacific Coast Amateur Championship.

Hosted by British Columbia Golf, the championship will be played from July 25-28, 2023. Hosting previously in 2003 and 2013, this marks the third time the championship has been held at Capilano Golf and Country Club.

SEPTEMBER 14, 2023 - Canadian golfing legend Mike Weir is counting the days until he can again hear the roar of a Presidents Cup crowd.

Weir, from Brights Grove, Ont., was doing site inspections and meeting key organizers of the 2024 Presidents Cup at Royal Montreal Golf Club on Tuesday. He said that although the 12-on-12 tournament will feature some of the best players on the PGA Tour, the atmosphere is on an entirely different level than the top men’s circuit.

“There’s roars, there’s not just pops,” said Weir, who is the first Canadian to captain the International team. “It’s a whole different experience, not only for the players, but the fans, the fans are more engaged.”

Walla Walla, Wash - Carl Yuan of Lake Mary, Fla. defeated Andrew Whalen of Ephrata, Wash., 5 and 3, in the final match to win the 115th Pacific Northwest Men's Amateur Championship.

The championship was held at Wine Valley Golf Club in Walla Walla, Wash., and was conducted by the Pacific Northwest Golf Association (PNGA). The match between Yuan and Whalen saw 12 lead changes in the first 18 holes of their scheduled 36-hole match, and the two players stood All Square after the morning round.

To celebrate Women’s Golf Day 2022, British Columbia Golf is hosting a fun, "cloud scramble" event and we would like you to take part!

Women’s Golf Day is officially on Tuesday, June 7th, 2022 but to accommodate schedules, people wanting to play in our scramble can play their round anytime between June 5th and June 12th.

The following message was sent out by Tom Cade, the president of the Pacific Northwest Golf Association (PNGA) to address the tragic loss of Jamie Fay, the Assistant General Manager at Chambers Bay, host of this year's U.S. Open championship. 

Jamie Fay succumbed to injuries sustained when a tree fell onto his vehicle during the windstorm this past weekend. The PNGA along with many other golf associations including British Columbia Golf want to express their most sincere condolences to Jamie Fay's wife and family following this terrible accident.

University Place, Wash. – Chambers Bay, the 7,375 yard, par-71 golf course in University Place, Wash., will host many of the best amateur golfers in the world this week for the 54th Pacific Coast Amateur Championship. The championship, hosted by Washington Golf (WA Golf), will be played July 20-23, 2021.

This will be the second time Chambers Bay has hosted the championship, with it previously being held there in 2017.

This year’s championship had been scheduled to be held at historic Royal Colwood Golf Club in Victoria, B.C., but the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic made it necessary to find a venue in the U.S.

University Place, Wash. – Chambers Bay in University Place, Wash., will host many of the top amateur golfers in the world this week for the 57th Pacific Coast Amateur Championship.

Hosted by Washington Golf, the championship will be played from July 23-26, 2024. Having previously hosted the event in 2017 and 2021, this marks the third time the championship has been held at Chambers Bay.

Site of the 2010 U.S. Amateur and 2015 U.S. Open, Chambers Bay welcomes the prestigious Pacific Coast Amateur Championship as the second consecutive Seattle-area venue to fit into Championship’s rotation.

UNIVERSITY PLACE, Washington — Chambers Bay Golf Course, a 7,165-yard par-72 championship venue sitting along the shores of Puget Sound in the shadow of the Olympic Mountains, will see the world’s most accomplished amateur golfers travel to the Pacific Northwest for the second consecutive year as host of the 51st installment of the Pacific Coast Amateur Championship in 2017.

Set to take place July 25-29 2017, the University Place links-style layout will show it’s versatility after proving to be a difficult test of golf for the world’s most accomplished professionals in last year’s U.S. Open.

“It is our privilege to serve as the site of the 51st Pacific Coast Amateur,” stated Matt Allen, general manager of Chambers Bay.

Bremerton, Wash. - At the 34th Pacific Northwest Senior Team Championships, Erik Hanson of Kirkland, Wash. and Craig Larson of Tacoma won the Men's Senior Team title; Charlie Wozow and Toat Brandvold, both of Snohomish, Wash. won the Men's Super Senior; Jackie Little of Port Alberni, B.C. and Kathryn McGarvey of North Vancouver, B.C. won the Women's Senior; and Mary Ryan of Renton, Wash. and Sun Douthit of Steilacoom, Wash. won the Women's Super Senior.

Kathrine Chan learned Monday that boring is not always bad. A round of 18 straight pars that Chan called “boring” earned the 17-year-old Richmond resident a spot in next month’s U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship in southern California.

Chan’s even-par round of 72 topped the field and earned her one of two spots that were up for grabs at a qualifier at Richmond Country Club. Delta’s Mary Parsons earned the other spot with a one-over 73.

Vancouver, BC - July 18, 2016 - The historic first U.S. Amateur Qualifying event to be held in Canada at Marine Drive Golf Club produced club member Chris Crisologo as its medallist with the 2nd qualifying position going to William Deck from Kelowna.

Two alternate spots were won by two more members from the host club, Jackson Thornley and Conrado Pederes, who beat yet another Marine Drive member, Jordan Lu, in a playoff.

On a day with weather befitting a marathon qualifier, Marine Drive GC member Chris Crisologo was the medallist shooting rounds of 65-69 for a 6-under par score under blue skies and a hot July sun in Vancouver.

Carlsbad, California - (December 6, 2015) - Sunny skies and warm temperatures greeted members of CJGA Team Canada as they prepare for the 15th annual Aaron Baddeley International Junior Championship at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California.

BURNABY, BC – The Simon Fraser University golf teams have their sights set on the 2017 GNAC Championships, which takes place in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho on April 24 and 25. The Clan women enter the tournament as the defending champions while the men's team looks to capture its second conference title after finishing first in 2015.

Birdie. Birdie. Birdie. That’s how Vancouver’s Stuart Macdonald finished his first qualifying school Friday to secure status on this year’s Mackenzie Tour-PGA Tour Canada circuit. That would be your textbook definition of clutch.

The 22-year-old member of Point Grey Golf & Country Club, who is a member of Canada’s national amateur team, finished the 72-hole Q school at the Country Club at Soboba Springs in San Jacinto, Calif., tied for ninth place at three-under par. That guarantees him the first four starts of the Mackenzie Tour season and means he won’t be an amateur much longer.

For Ann Carroll and Mike Martz, it was just one round of four. 

While their squads, Carroll’s Team Canada 1 and Martz’s Team Canada 2, trail other countries after Round 1 of the World Junior Girls at The Marshes in Ottawa, they’re both optimistic that things will change with three rounds to go.

“It was a good day because I saw a lot of fight back in my team,” said Martz. “Euna had a tough start and then she made some birdies to get it back and I’m pretty happy for her.”

PACIFIC COAST GOLF ASSOCIATION (Eugene, OR)- Colton Yates, a soon-to-be Junior on the Colorado State University Men's Golf Team, set the first round pace at the 49th Pacific Coast Amateur Championship hosted by the par 70, 6,975-yard Eugene Country Club in Eugene, Oregon.

With all the recent controversy regarding the 'new rules' of golf, particularly due to some very publicized incidents on the PGA TOUR, Doug Ferguson of the Associated Press wrote a piece that puts the onus where it really should be, on the players, to learn, know, understand and play by the rules. He makes some excellent points here illustrating clearly why it should not be that difficult to accept and embrace the effort and intent of the new rules of golf. - ed

ORLANDO, Florida — The memo PGA TOUR commissioner Jay Monahan sent to players on the new Rules of Golf can be interpreted different ways based as much on the timing as the message.

One theme was to be patient. “We are committed to playing under these rules as we analyze their effectiveness... and it’s important to acknowledge that we are not at the finish line yet,” Monahan said in a memo.

Another was to look at the USGA as a partner instead of a villain.

“This is a collaborative process, one the PGA TOUR has been a part of from the beginning, along with all organizations in the world of golf,” he wrote.

The hope is that it will lead players to stop complaining about the rules and simply follow them.
