(August 19, 2024) - In one week, A.J. Ewart has gone from relying on sponsor’s exemptions to get into PGA Tour Americas events to now being tantalizingly close to earning Korn Ferry Tour status.

The 25-year-old Coquitlam native changed his professional golfing life in a big way with an impressive wire-to-wire win at the Elk Ridge Saskatchewan Open. That victory moved Ewart up to 14th spot on the PGA Tour Americas’ Fortinet Cup points list.

Three events remain and the top 10 on the points list at season’s end earn Korn Ferry Tour status for 2025.

A field of 150-plus aspiring Web.com Tour players is set to compete at Final Stage of the Web.com Tour Qualifying Tournament next month in Winter Garden, Florida, in hopes of securing strong Web.com Tour status for the 2017 season.

After spending the past three years at PGA National Resort & Spa in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, the all-important Final Stage will relocate to the Orlando suburbs for this year's 72-hole event, with participants playing 36 holes each at Orange County National Golf Club's Crooked Cat and Panther Lake courses.

CALGARY – Golf Canada in partnership with Canadian Pacific (CP) has announced the field of competitors set to challenge for the 2016 CP Women’s Open taking place August 22–28.

The 156 player field competing at Priddis Greens Golf and Country Club will feature the entire top 10, 46 of the top 50 and 96 of the top 100 on the LPGA Tour’s Official Money List. The field also includes 34 Olympians, fresh off their experience in Rio, where women are competing in Olympic golf competition for the first time ever.

(AUGUST 16, 2023) Vancouver, B.C. – Golf Canada in partnership with Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) announced today the final field of competitors set to challenge for the 2023 CPKC Women’s Open taking place August 22-27 at the Shaughnessy Golf and Country Club in Vancouver, B.C.

Defending champion Paula Reto leads a stellar field of competitors that includes nine of the top-10 and 22 of the top-25 players on the Race to CME Globe standings. The field will also include 16 of the LPGA Tour’s in-year winners and all 2023 Major winners including two-time major champion and new world no. 1 Lilia Vu.

The second stage of Web.com Tour qualifying school kicked off Tuesday at separate sites across the U.S. going from Nov. 10–13 with 13 Canadians in the field including two from British Columbia. The week following, another 10 Canucks with three hailing from B.C. will tee-it-up at two separate events to complete stage II of qualifying.

Kaleb Gorbahn of Smithers, B.C., finished runner up at 8-under, while Hugo Bernard of Mont-Saint-Hilaire, Que., tied for 17th after finishing 2-under at the Dayton Valley, Nev., qualifying event, where the top 22 positions and tied advanced.

It would be understandable if Nick Taylor was a tad reluctant to turn the page on 2023, which was a career-defining year for the Abbotsford native.

Who will ever forget that dramatic win at the RBC Canadian Open, sealed on the fourth hole of a sudden-death playoff at Oakdale Country Club by a putt from somewhere just north of Hamilton.

And Taylor was anything but a one-tournament wonder in 2023. In February, he almost won the WM Phoenix Open, finishing second to Scottie Scheffler. He and Abbotsford buddy Adam Hadwin were a solo second at the two-man team event in New Orleans. Taylor had six top-10s, 15 top-25s, finished 25th on the FedEx Cup points list and earned just over $6.2 million.

By the time the final putt dropped on another brilliant day in Northern California and Brandt Snedeker won the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am for the second time in three years, the best British Columbia golfers had already hightailed it out of the Monterey Peninsula.

Abbotsford’s Adam Hadwin and Nick Taylor will be getting ready to play practice rounds at Riviera for the Northern Trust Open this week while Roger Sloan is back in Houston to work on his game in anticipation of his next PGA TOUR stop, hopefully in Florida.

Victoria’s Cory Renfrew will be trying to Monday qualify for Riviera with a 12:55 p.m. tee time alongside Billy Mayfair and aspiring PGA TOUR pros Ryan Williams and Adam Cornelson will be planning their Web.com schedules for the spring.

After three weeks covering this golden generation of British Columbia golf professionals, this much is clear: It’s a roller coaster ride of emotions for these young men as they pursue their golf dreams.

The memories figure to last a lifetime, so one year after the biggest win of his professional career Nick Taylor has no difficulty recalling some of the most special moments of that magical week on the Monterey Peninsula.

One of the best was having his wife Andie and their young son Charlie waiting for him behind the 18th green at Pebble Beach Golf Links after he won the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

KITCHENER, Ontario — PGA TOUR Canada announced that PGA TOUR star and native Canadian Corey Conners has agreed to serve as the Honorary Chair for its flagship event, the season-ending Fortinet Cup Championship, at Deer Ridge Golf Club set for September 12-18. The Corey and Malory Conners Family Fund, which focuses on helping underprivileged children through sports and education, will be the official Fortinet Cup Championship charity. Conners grew up in Listowel, Ontario, approximately 55 kilometres from Deer Ridge, and he continues to maintain close ties to the region and to PGA TOUR Canada, where his professional career began.

Four Canadians finished inside the cut of T21 (plus ties) on Friday to advance to the final stage of Web.com Tour Qualifying School. The Canucks were in action at two separate 72-hole stroke-play events contested at different sites in the U.S.

In Texas, Canadians Devin Carrey of Burnaby, B.C. and Cam Burke of New Hamburg, Ont., cracked the top-10 at the Clubs of Kingwood-Deerwood to punch their ticket to the final stage.

Four Canadians will be in the field this week at the first Web.com Tour Finals event the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Charity Championship at Ohio State University Golf Club’s Scarlet Course in Arlington, Ohio. Leading the way with his PGA TOUR card already locked up is Thornhill, Ont., native Ben Silverman.

Silverman is playing the best golf of his professional career with four top-10s in his last four starts – including his first career Web.com Tour win at the Price Cutter Charity Championship presented by Dr. Pepper.

He finished the regular season No. 10 on the Web.com Tour Money List securing one of 25 cards available in the regular season and will be jockeying for priority on the PGA TOUR card list during the Finals.

Joining Silverman in Ohio are fellow Canadians Corey Conners (Listowel, Ont.), Roger Sloan (Merritt, B.C.),and Adam Svensson (Surrey, B.C.).

Four players from British Columbia will be among the 14 Canadians included in the approximately 375 athletes competing for 2017 playing status at the second stage of Web.com Tour Qualifying School, hosted at five different sites across the United States from Nov. 1–11.

Players from BC include Seann Harlingten and David Rose, both of West Vancouver, Ryan Williams from Vancouver and Burnaby's Devin Carrey.

Each qualifying site will host 72-hole stroke-play events with 78-player fields and no cuts. The number of players advancing from each site will be determined on a pro-rated basis (announced during play).

Four more Canucks advanced to the final stage of Web.com Tour Q-School on Nov. 20th, playing at two locations in the U.S.

Lucas Kim was the low scorer for the Canadians, carding 11-under thru 72 holes to finish alone in third place at the Plantation Preserve Golf Course & Club in Plantation, Fla. Just sneaking inside the cut line was Ben Silverman of Thornhill, Ont., who posted a 3-under score to finish T20.

In California, Calgary’s Ryan Yip finished at 8-under (69-69-70-72) to finish in a tie for fifth. Not far behind was Matt McQuillan of Kingston, Ont., who carded a total score of 5-under (69-71-70-73) to finish T15.

VICTORIA, B.C. (August 10, 2017) – Tournament Organizers announced today that four golf stars have committed to playing in the 2017 Pacific Links Bear Mountain Championship; Tom Lehman, Mark O’Meara, Jerry Kelly and Rocco Mediate will all be joining the famed field.

The event will take place at Bear Mountain Golf Resort in Victoria, British Columbia the week of September 11-17, 2017.
