PRINCE GEORGE – The next generation of female golfers got an exclusive opportunity on Friday, June 4th as School District 57 (Prince George) had a Pro-D Day.
Ann Holmes, one of the golf pros at the Prince George Golf and Curling Club and a British Columbia Golf coach, put on a 'girls only' golf camp with two sessions taking place that day.
Holmes offered up both a morning and afternoon group, with the camp only costing $10. Participants were able to learn all of the strokes needed for golf, as well as making a craft. Holmes was quite pleased that 53 young girls showed up and the sessions were a great success.

"This year we did 2 clinics (10am-12pm and 1pm-2pm) and I could take 28 golfers in each slot - and with our social media and a story on CKPG, we filled them," said Holmes. "Last year was very small due to Covid and this year we could increase our numbers a bit."
