Top-Ranked Jared du Toit Picks Up 10 Spots in the World Rankings
Top-ranked Jared du Toit picked up 10 spots in the world rankings to sit at a career-best 57th in the world. The Golf Canada National Team member is coming off a win at the Glencoe Invitational. He became the first player from the host club, The Glencoe Golf & Country Club, to win the tournament since 1995.
Fellow National Team member Hugo Bernard climbed seven places to move into the No. 4 ranking in Canada after finishing tied for 14th at the Sunnehanna Amateur Championship.
Joey Savoie, the No. 10 ranked amateur in Canada, jumped 28 spots in the world rankings following his performance at The Amateur Championship in Wales. Savoie finished tied for 20th in the stroke play portion of the event before losing in his first match play game.
Outside the Top-10, there was some significant movement in the rankings. Garrett Rank, the reigning Canadian Men’s Mid-Amateur champion and the defending Ontario Mid-Amateur champion, jumped back into the Top-20 in a big way, gaining 508 world ranking points after finishing tied for second at the Sunnehanna Amateur Championship. Rank – an NHL and AHL referee for most of the year – now finds himself at No. 17 in the Canadian rankings.
Travis Fredborg made his Top-20 debut with a 10-place gain in the world rankings after finishing tied for 10th at the Glencoe Invitational. The Selkirk, Man., golfer finds himself at No. 19 in the Canadian rankings.
Biggest move: Brendan Macdougall gained 776 spots in the world rankings after finishing in a tie for 12th at the Glencoe Invitational. The Calgary golfer finished tied for third earlier this year at the CN Future Links Pacific Championship and also has a victory in the season-opening Maple Leaf Junior Tour event.

There was very little movement in the Top-10 this past week with only Sabrine Garrison moving up to take over the No. 9 ranking in Canada ahead of Anna Younjin Kim.
Outside the Top-10, Monet Chun picked up 25 spots in the world rankings after finishing in a tie for 25th at the AJGA Rolex Girls Junior Championship.
Biggest Move: Sophie Liu picked up 430 spots in the world rankings after finishing runner-up at the Women’s Amateur Championship in Florida. Liu, who started the match play portion of the tournament as the lowest-ranked player, began by knocking off the top-ranked player in 19 holes. She then advanced through the rest of the tournament by scores of 7 & 6, 1 up, 1 up before losing in the final 5 & 4.

Ryan Yip finished tied for 17th at the Web.com Tour’s Nashville Golf Open, gaining 84 spots in the world rankings. It was his first points-paying finish of the year and was worth 1.20 world ranking points.
Roger Sloan moved back into the Top-10 after finishing tied for 17th at the same event. The result enabled the Merritt, B.C., golfer to climb 36 spots in the world rankings, moving from No. 13 up to No. 10 in Canada. He gained 1.20 world ranking points for his third points-paying finish of the year. It was also his first Top-20 result since April.
Other notable results: No. 8 Taylor Pendrith finished tied for 23rd at the Web.com Tour’s Nashville Golf Open, while No. 9 Adam Svensson finished tied for 44th and No. 7 Albin Choi missed the cut.

Alena Sharp gained 10 places in the world rankings to sit just outside the Top-100 in the world. The Hamilton native finished in a tie for 13th at LPGA’s Meijer Classic; it was her best result of the year in 14 tournaments.
A week after winning her first major, Brooke Henderson was back on the links, finishing in a tie for 21st at the LPGA’s Meijer Classic. That result enabled her to maintain her No. 2 world ranking.
Maude-Aimée Leblanc gained 25 places after finishing in a tie for 50th at the LPGA’s Meijer Classic. The Quebec golfer has made up 61 spots in the world rankings over the last two weeks and moved up to the No. 4 ranking in Canada.
Outside the Top-10, Brittany Marchand made the biggest move, picking up 73 spots in the world rankings after finishing tied for 20th at the Symetra Tour’s Four Winds Invitational in Indiana. The result enabled the Orangeville, Ont., golfer to move from No. 16 to No. 12 in Canada.
Other Notable Results: No. 3 Samantha Richdale missed the cut at the LPGA’s Meijer Classic, while No. 9 Anne-Catherine Tanguay missed the cut. No. 5 Augusta James finished tied for 15th at Symetra Tour event in Indiana, while No. 6 Sue Kim finished tied for 40th, No. 7 Jessica Wallace and No. 10 Rebecca Lee-Bentham finished with shares of 32nd.
