International Women’s Golf Day Happens June 7th Worldwide

Golf clubs, retail locations, and golf facilities across the country and around the world are participating in Women's Golf Day on June 7th to engage and encourage women and girls to play golf.

It's important that women have a positive experience around golf as they are responsible for many of the family decisions and are economic influencers.

Women’s Golf Day is a brand new international initiative to celebrate the women who currently play and to bring new women into the game and a number of courses and facilites in British Columbia will be front and centre with activities at several venues.

Clubs will host the event on June 7, 2016, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. no matter where they are or what country.

A team of dedicated veteran golf industry professionals have come together to create and execute this global event.

Potential GOLF COURSE FORMAT

4pm – 6pm: Participants have the option of:

2 hours of lessons – One hour on the driving range and One hour chipping and putting
OR
2 hours of play - A 9-hole scramble or play their own ball as long as the round can be completed in two hours

6pm – 8pm: Socializing, networking and distribution of information regarding lessons, league play, ways to get involved in golf. Locations involved are trying to include as many people and organizations from the community as possible that are involved with golf who can contribute to the event. Some locations will feature speakers, women’s golf teams from the closest university or high school, corporate networking groups etc. Ideally the goal is to include: Speaker(s) / Prizes / Refreshments.

Potential RETAIL FORMAT

4pm – 6pm: Basic Instruction

2 hours of basic instruction and lessons – participants will rotate and try driving in the simulators or driving range and chipping and putting on the putting greens, review basics like holding the club and set up position. Also expected are a putting contest and a driving contest with prizes.

6pm – 8pm: Socializing, networking and distribution of information regarding lessons, league play, ways to get involved in golf.

Locations involved are trying to include as many people and organizations as possible from the community that are involved with golf who can contribute to the event. Some locations will feature speakers, women’s golf teams from the closest university or high school, corporate networking groups etc. Ideally the goal is to include: Speaker(s) / Prizes / Refreshments.
