Jim Lee, British Columbia Golf

Maureen was competitive in five sports - badminton, swimming (syncronized), tennis, field hockey and golf.
Her athletic career started with her involvement in sport while a student at UBC.  There, she
competed in badminton, field hockey and swimming and won an unprecedented nine Big Blocks
(four badminton, four swimming and one field hockey), a record that held for several years.

Her badminton career alone saw her win seven Club titles, twenty City titles, four Pacific Northwest
titles, forty Provincial titles, six National titles and two International titles.  She won these titles at the
junior, open, senior, masters, grand master and golden master levels.

In 1958, Maureen tore her knee cartilage and took up golf.  Since then she has competed in the BC
Summer Games, winning four gold and two silver medals.

In her 80's Maureen still plays several times a week.
