Amazing Opportunity For Young Zone Six Golfers To Up Their Game

On April 27th, Morningstar Golf Club in Parksville will play host to some very lucky junior golfers and your son or daughter could be one of them !
British Columbia Golf is pleased to announce that registration is now open for the one-day mid-island Regional Junior Golf Camp open to BC Golf Junior members ages 10 to 15, both genders.
These camps, which run in multiple locations across the province, are overseen by Debbie Pyne, Managing Director for Player Development for British Columbia Golf.
"The BC Regional Camp is designed to bring up and coming young golfers together to test their skills, develop their game, compete with their peers and learn about the pathway ahead. This is an exciting opportunity for a young golfer to take their game to the next level whether that is at a club event or competitive tournament. If you have a child ten or older that is showing an interest in bettering their game, this is an opportunity not to be missed.'

While some of the other camps across the province are focused on the already competitive golfer, this camp will be more targeted at the young golfer who may be in the earlier stages of becoming more competitive. Continues Pyne, "We are looking to give some of the junior golfers who may be earlier on in their development the chance to progress a little more rapidly."
The camp will include:
• On course play
• Friendly competitions
• The opportunity to challenge the national short game testing protocols
• Stats and their importance in benchmarking and how you can utilize them to improve your game
• Guidance on your competitive golfing pathway
The group of coaches who will be spearheading this camp is very impressive.
Leading will be Michelle McCann from Uplands GC in Victoria. Michelle's resume includes being the 2022 PGA of BC Jack McLaughlin Junior Golf Leader of the Year and Assistant Coach for the Gold medal winning BC team at the 2022 Canada Summer Games. Michelle was also selected by BC Golf to be Provincial Advisor for Golf for the 2024 BC Summer games where she also coached Zone 6 (Vancouver Island + Central Coast) to a silver medal. There will also be a high calibre guest coach on hand, Jennifer Greggain,, Associate Coach, Team Canada Women. Greggain has had a long and successful career including two years playing on the LPGA. Jennifer has recently moved and will now be calling Vancouver Island home.
Rounding out the team are two more PGA of Canada members, Morningstar's own Aidan Goodfellow and Mark Valliere from Glacier Greens, both former Team BC players.
If you know of a junior who is looking to take their game to the next level, this is a once-in--a-lifetime opportunity.
The cost of the entire day including training, lunch and golf is only C$125.00.
