Are Your Member Facilities Ready for Adaptive Golfers?

British Columbia Golf is a member of the International Association of Golf Administrators (IAGA) and as such are very involved with initiatives that promote and support golf as an activity that should be accessible to all seeking the health and wellbeing benefits that this wonderful game has to offer.

One of the barriers that people with disabilities often encounter in the pursuit of golf's benefits, is the issue of basic accessibility itself.

In this video Dave Barton, PGA, Executive Director of the National Alliance for Accessible Golf and Jan Bel Jan, ASGCA, National Alliance Board Member and past President of the American Society of Golf Course Architects, highlight the critical elements of 'barrier free' environments, both physical and cultural, and how to conduct a “Facility Self-Assessment” to ensure your golf facility is prepared for ALL golfers whether it be for daily play, or hosting an adaptive golf program or competition.

Learn the basics of what 'accessible' and 'inclusive' really mean and your role and responsibilities related to compliance with the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) and how you can be acknowledged as a National Alliance Recognized Accessible Golf Facility.
