Zone Qualifying Starts As BC Summer Games Gets Set For Maple Ridge In 2024

After having the 2020 version of the BC Summer Games cancelled due to Covid-19, Maple Ridge will host the 2024 BC Summer Games, from July 18-21.
“Maple Ridge is home to a number of famous athletes and will soon become the centre of sports in our province with the upcoming B.C. Summer Games,” said Anne Kang, Minister of Municipal Affairs.
As a prelude to the BC Summer Games there will be a number of qualifying events at various sites and that will hold true for golf as well. You can find general information and more details on zone qualifying for golf to take part in the games below.
BC Summer Games 2024 Info
Games Dates:
Thursday, July 18th : (Some outer zones may travel on the 17th) – Travel to the Games, Opening Ceremony, Practice Round
Friday, July 19th : Day 1 of competition
Saturday, July 20th : Day 2 of competition
Sunday, July 21st : Education session, closing ceremonies and travel home
All qualifiers are held by your zone. Please go to your zone website or contact your zone representative for more information.
All qualifiers will be completed by June 8th
Cost to participate in the Games is $275
- This includes travel for those outside the Lower Mainland

General Information:
Age: 12–16
Age Description: Athletes must be a minimum of 12 years of age and a maximum of 16 years of age as of July 20, 2024.
Zone Team Composition: 6 athletes per zone. All zones to bring 3 male and 3 female athletes except for zones 1, 7, and 8, which may bring up to 4 athletes of one gender, upon approval of British Columbia Golf. A minimum of 4 athletes comprises a zone team. Teams are expected to bring both male and female athletes.
Scoring
Individual Play: 36 holes of stroke play. Scoring is based on a total two-day gross score. Medals are awarded to the top 3 in each of the Boys Individual Play and Girls Individual Play.
Team Play: 36 holes of stroke play. Team scores are based on the two-day total of the 3 lowest net scores posted each day from any member of the zone team. Medals are awarded to the top 3 teams. All players on a zone team must be from the same zone.
