VICTORIA — Just days after winning the B.C. Juvenile Girls Championship, Vancouver’s Jenny Kwon is well positioned to add the B.C. Bantam Girls title.
The 14-year-old Kwon shot an even-par 67 in the first round of the event for players aged 14 and under at Cedar Hill Golf Course in Victoria.
Kwon carries a three-shot lead over Karrisa Yuehan Zhao of West Vancouver and Kathleen Dunn of Surrey into the final round of the 36-hole event. Elsa Wu of Maple Ridge sits fourth after shooting a four-over 71.

The Bantam Boys Championship is also being contested at Cedar Hill and Jaden August of Pitt Meadows leads by one after firing a two-under 65. Luke Van Alstine of Vancouver sits second after his 66, while Jeevan Lotay of Burnaby is third at one-over par.
