PGA of BC Releases 2023 Championship Schedule
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
JANUARY 24, 2023 - RICHMOND, BC (PGA of British Columbia) – The PGA of BC is proud to announce its 2023 tournament schedule. After returning to a full schedule slate for the 2022 season, all eight of the Association’s traditional championship events will be held again this year.
We are excited to return to the Kootenays for both the Pro-Assistant Championship, as well as the PGA of BC Championship. This will mark the first time since 2019 that the region has hosted an Association tournament event.
Dean Jackson, Executive Professional at Revelstoke Golf Club, is thrilled to be hosting the PGA of BC Championship: “I’m super stoked, I definitely can’t wait for August.”
“It’s an honour to be able to host the best professionals in the province at my facility,” said Jackson. “I’m really looking forward to showcasing the property to the professionals who have never been here."
Last year saw the successful return of the Jack McLaughlin Memorial Pro-Junior Championship after a two-year hiatus. The PGA of BC Administration Team is currently working to finalize the format of this year’s event with the Tournaments & Captain’s Committee and anticipates providing further details for this year’s tournament in the coming weeks.
Also in 2022, the PGA of BC Women’s Championship enjoyed incredible hospitality at Victoria Golf Club. The event’s first round was played in conjunction with the prestigious Barb Doell Memorial Pro-Am. We are incredibly excited to be finalizing details for this year’s Women’s Championship as we work to grow the event further. Details regarding the dates and venue are anticipated to be announced by the Administration Team in short order.
The Tournament of Champions, hosted by Gallagher’s Canyon Golf Club, will kick off this year’s championship events providing Club Professionals a chance to play alongside the club champion from their facility of affiliation.
Additionally, the Lower Mainland is scheduled to host two events: the Assistants’ & Seniors’ Championship at Chilliwack Golf Club, and the Club Professional Championship at Point Grey Golf & Country Club.
