2022 Chilliwack Open Features Multiple Big Winners
The 2022 Chilliwack Open Presented by Langley Concrete Group saw two pros - and one am - take home some significant cheques…
On July 9 & 10, Chilliwack Golf Club once again hosted this storied tournament bringing back some highly anticipated events including the Saturday Night Party at the Pavilion, Friday Night Horse Race, and Hole #15 beer garden that had been missing during COVID.
The professional division saw Steven Lecuyer (Shown above centre with Alex Walker left and Eddie Sun right) from Seymour Creek Golf Academy edge James Allenby form the Langley Golf Centre by one stroke over the 36-hole tournament posting a (67-67) 10-under total. For his efforts, Lecuyer took home $4,000 while Allenby made $2,700.
The two pros actually were not the biggest winners. Congratulations must go to Mark Heinrich who won $10,000 after recording a hole in one on the 12th hole.
In the Amateur Division, Alex Walker (-1) won the gross and while Eddie Sun (-5) won the net. Each won a $500 gift certificate.
On their website, they acknowledged all those who help make this event happen, “Many thanks to all of our hard working staff and volunteers for making this tournament such a huge success!… (And a) huge shoutout to The Langley Concrete Group of Companies and all of our hole sponsors for supporting professional and amateur golf in the Fraser Valley."
