Get In On The LPGA Amateurs Chapman Two-Ball

As part of British Columbia's ongoing desire to introduce and grow the game game as widely as possible, this year an agreement was entered into with the LPGA Amateur Golf Association, part of the LPGA Tour, to establish 3 distinct chapters in BC affiliated with the LPGA Amateurs.

The announcement made online June 17th, with the help of LPGA Commissioner Michael Whan, launched the LPGA Amateurs Vancouver Island, Lower Mainland/Fraser Valley and Okanagan/Kamloops/Shuswap chapters in BC.

The benefits available are many and with the support of the LPGA Tour, both women and men are welcome to join and take part in events as well as have access to a number of special deals on travel, merchandise and more.

In this instance we're excited to offer an opportunity to take part in the final LPGA Amateurs competition taking place in BC this season, The Chapman Two-Ball.

LPGA Amateurs Modified Chapman Event

Much like our scramble event this will be a “cloud” event where 2 player teams will play their home course and submit their scorecards for us to create a leaderboard. At least one of the two players must be a registered LPGA Amateurs member. The other teammate can be a guest as we are encouraging members to invite friends to join the chapters. Rounds can be played at any golf course in BC between September 26th and October 4th. This will be our last golf event of 2020!

Format:

On a par 5

- Both players drive then they hit their partners ball (alternating) until the third shot has been hit.

After that, teams will pick the best ball, and alternate shots until the ball is holed.

On a par 4

- Play the same way as the par 5 but pick the best ball after the second shot and alternate shots

until the ball is holed.

On a par 3

- Both players drive. Then pick the best ball and alternate shots until the ball is holed.

Handicaps:

- Team handicaps will be determined by taking 50% of each players handicap and adding them.

  • For example. Player A is an 8 Handicap and Player B is a 14. Fifty per cent of 8 is 4, and

fifty percent of 14 is 7. 7+4 = 11. So the team handicap would be 11.
