Kim & Vandette Lead After Two Rounds Of The Future Links, Driven by Acura Pacific Championship At Pitt Meadows Golf Club

Surrey’s Lauren Kim and Christopher Vandette of Beaconsfield, Que., have the lead heading into Sunday’s final round of the Future Links, Driven by Acura Pacific Championship at Pitt Meadows Golf Club.
The 13-year-old Kim shot a brilliant five-under 67 Saturday and stands at four-under par through two rounds of the 54-hole event. Kim had six birdies and just one bogey during her round Saturday. She is two shots ahead of Angel Lin of Surrey and Euna Han of Coquitlam.
Pitt Meadows Golf Club is set up as a par 72 for the girls and a par 71 for the boys, who are playing the 18th hole as a par 4.
Lin carded a two-under 70 Saturday, while Han fired a 71. Vandette, the 17-year-old reigning Canadian Junior Boys champion, carded a two-under 69 Saturday and sits at two-under par through 36 holes. Vandette’s card Saturday included five birdies and three bogeys.
Ethan Choi of Pincher Creek, Alta., and Laurent Desmarchais of Longueuil, Que., are both one shot back at one-under par. Desmarchais fired a four-under 67 Saturday, while Choi recorded a 69.
First-round leader Jeevan Sihota of Victoria is tied for fourth place at even-par with Richmond’s Michael Crisologo. Sihota carded a two-over 73 on Saturday and was hurt by a triple bogey on the par 4 12th hole when he hit his tee shot out of bounds. Crisologo shot a 70 on Saturday.
The Future Links Pacific Championship has attracted a field of 87 boys and 33 girls. Many of Canada’s top junior golfers are competing in the event.
