Rowe Leads Vikes Men To Victory At CSUSM Fall Classic, Women Sixth

VICTORIA - Lawren Rowe and the men's golf team took home their third championship of the young season on Tuesday, with Rowe winning the individual title to help his team secure the trophy.

The women's team moved up from eighth to sixth between Day 1 and Day 2, as Laura Ferreira and Hannah Diamond both put up rounds of 76 on the final day.

After registering a four-under-par 67 in his first roudn on Monday, Rowe shot par two rounds in a row to scure the individual title. In a tough tournament that saw a number of high scores, the third-year Vike finished eight strokes ahead of the next-best competitor, CSUEB's Adam Stone at four-over-par.

Two of his teammates--Bruce Tomie and Andrew Funk--also finished in the top-20. Tomie finished the tournament tied for 10th at 12-over-par while Funk finished tied for 13th at 13-over-par.

Ferreira tied for 23rd on the women's side after shooting 160 through two rounds. Teammate Quinn Fitzgerald also shot 160 at the tournament, tying her for second on the team leaderboard behind Hanna Diamond at 159.

Nicole Gargarella and Rhiannon Jones rounded out the group in a tie for 37th and 40th, respectively.
