B.C.’s du Toit Remains In Top Spot In Weekly Rankings

Ki Taek Lee got his senior campaign at Arizona State off to a solid start, climbing 272 spots in the world rankings after finishing in a tie for second at the OFCC/Fighting Illini Invite; it was the best career result for the senior and moved him back into the Top-20 in the Canadian rankings at No. 15.
Fellow Canadian and Arizona State teammate Jared du Toit, the No. 1-ranked amateur in Canada, finished in a tie for 48th.
One change in the Top-10 rankings saw Blair Bursey climb five places to overtake Chris Crisologo for No. 9 after finishing in a tie for sixth at the Itani Quality Homes Collegiate event.
At the same event, UBC second-year player Andrew Harrison gained 47 spots in world rankings to move up to No. 19 in Canada after finishing in a tie for fourth.
Biggest move: Jaxon Lynn gained 821 spots in the world after finishing in a tie for 39th at the Badger Invitational. The 2016 Alberta Junior Boys champion is a sophomore at South Dakota State.

Chloe Currie climbed 52 spots in the world rankings and moved into No. 8 in Canada following a historic performance overseas. The Team Canada Development Squad member became the first Canadian to capture the Young Champions Trophy at the Duke of York tournament in England. The 16-year-old started the final round in a tie for fourth before carding a tournament-low 68 for a come-from-behind one-stroke victory. With the win, Currie adds to a string of impressive results this past summer, including a title defense at the Ontario Junior Girls and a runner-up finish at the Canadian Junior Girls.
Jessica Ip made the second biggest gain among the Top-10, picking up 51 spots after a runner-up finish at the Red Raider Invitational – her second-best career result since a victory almost a year ago at this time.
Naomi Ko gained 24 spots in the world rankings after placing sixth in the individual portion of the World Amateur Team Championship in Mexico. The No. 3-ranked amateur in Canada alongside fellow Golf Canada National Team members Maddie Szeryk and Josée Doyon helped Canada to a ninth-place finish in the team event.
Vanessa Ha moved up to the No. 4 ranking in Canada, gaining 11 spots in the world after placing ninth at the Col Wollenberg’s Ram Classic.
Biggest Move: Noémie Paré gained 194 spots in the world rankings after a 15th-place finish in her first career collegiate event, the Ross Resorts Invitational. The 2016 Québec Junior champion from Victoriaville, Que., is a freshman at Barry University.

Mackenzie Hughes gained 53 spots in the world after finishing tied for fifth at the Web.com Tour’s Albertsons Boise Open. It was his second Top-5 result on the development tour in the last six weeks and his third Top-5 of the year. The result was worth 3.31 world ranking points and helped the Golf Canada Young Pro Squad member move up to the No. 5 ranking in Canada.
Corey Conners picked up his second straight Top-10 result on the Latinoamérica Tour, finishing in a tie for eighth at the Ecuador Open. This mirrored his result from a week ago and was his sixth Top-10 result of the year on the South American-based tour. The No. 10-ranked Canadian player maintained his Top-5 standing on the tour’s money list, which is crucial in helping him attain a spot on the Web.com Tour next year.
Outside the Top-10, Michael Gligic moved up three places in the world into No. 15 in the Canadian rankings after finishing in a tie for 21st at the Mackenzie Tour-PGA Tour Canada’s Freedom 55 Financial Championship, the concluding event on the Canadian-based tour. Gligic finished 10th on the Tour’s money list, earning him a spot in the final stage of Web.com Tour qualifying later this year.
Other notable results: No. 9 Roger Sloan finished tied for 64th at Web.com Tour Albertsons Boise Open, while No. 8 Adam Svensson finished 67th and No. 4 Brad Fritsch missed the cut.

Jessica Wallace made the biggest gain among the Top-10, picking up 56 spots in the world rankings after finishing third at the Symetra Tour’s Garden City Charity Classic. It was her fourth Top-10 result of the year to date, moving her up to No. 7 in Canada.
Maude-Aimée LeBlanc made the second biggest move inside the Top-10, picking up 12 spots in the world rankings, after finishing 58th at the Symetra Tour event.
Despite finishing in a tie for ninth at the Evian Championship, the final LPGA major of the year, Brooke Henderson slipped one spot to No. 4 in the world rankings behind the winner In Gee Chun. It was the Smiths Falls, Ont., native’s 12th Top-10 result on the LPGA Tour this year and her third Top-10 finish in the five majors.
Other Notable Results: No. 2 Alena Sharp missed the cut at the LPGA Evian Championship. No. 6 Augusta James finished tied for 10th at the Symetra Tour event in Kansas, while No. 9 Brittany Marchand tied for 37th and No. 4 Samantha Richdale was T58.
