Pacific Links Championship Is Calling All Volunteers

Victoria, B.C. - Pacific Links International announced recently that it is accepting volunteer submissions for the 2016 Pacific Links Championship. With less than two months remaining until the event they encourage golf enthusiasts to be a part of the action by becoming a volunteer.
During the coming weeks, you will be hearing a great deal about the – 2016 PGA TOUR Champions event sponsored by Pacific Links International to be held at Bear Mountain Resort in Victoria, British Columbia September 19-25th, with a field of 81 players, and the purse of $2.5 million.
The Pacific Links Championship relies on the support and loyalty of volunteers to deliver a world-class event. Volunteers are required in a variety of committees, assignments and positions, each one crucial to making the Championship run as smoothly and seamlessly as possible.
“We are thrilled by the strong response we have received since announcing the event early in May,” said Pacific Links Chief Operating Officer Charles Lorimer. “This could be a once in a lifetime opportunity for many people in the community to get involved with an event of this magnitude and together making the tournament an unconditional success.”
Volunteers must be at least 13 years of age to be considered for a volunteer position at the tournament. Each volunteer must commit for a minimum of 3 days during Championship Week and shift lengths vary (at least 6 hours per shift) between committees.
All volunteers are required to purchase the Volunteer Package for $49, which covers a portion of the cost of the uniforms and enables the tournament to contribute to local charities in the community. The volunteer package includes:
- Volunteer Credential allowing access to the Championship Grounds from Wednesday thru Sunday
- Two (2) transferable Good-Any-One-Day Tickets to the Pacific Links Championship allowing access to the Grounds
- Official Pacific Links Championship Volunteer Golf Shirt of high quality Official Pacific Links Championship outerwear piece of high quality
- Official Pacific Links Championship golf cap or visor
- Souvenir program Complimentary parking
- Continental breakfast and lunch provided, on a voucher system, on days volunteered
- Invitation to the Volunteer Appreciation Party hosted after the conclusion of play on Sunday
The Pacific Links Championship team of volunteers consist of avid golfers, fans of the game and people looking for a fun and exciting experience. Committee placements are made on a first come first serve basis and Committee Directors will contact each volunteer and confirm which committee they have been placed in to.
