B.C.’s Nick Taylor Makes Biggest Weekly Rankings Move

Nick Taylor made the biggest move among the Top-10, gaining 52 spots in the world rankings with a tie for fifth at the PGA’s Puerto Rico Open – his second-best career result, behind only his first PGA Tour victory last year. It was his first Top-10 result of the season and was worth 4.96 world ranking points – his third points-paying finish in the last seven weeks.
No. 1 ranked Graham DeLaet climbed two spots after finishing in a tie for 11th at the PGA’s Puerto Rico Open. The result was worth 2.76 world ranking points for his third straight points-paying finish in as many tournaments. The Weyburn, Sask., native has climbed 40 spots in the world rankings over the last four weeks.
Other notable results: No. 8 Adam Svensson finished in a tie for 47th at the PGA’s Puerto Rico Open. His second PGA Tour start of the year was good enough for a two-place gain in the world rankings.

Brooke Henderson moved up one more spot in the world rankings and now sits as the 7th ranked female pro golfer in the world. The 18-year-old finished tied for 10th at the LPGA’s KIA Classic – her fifth straight Top-10 result of the season in six starts. The top-ranked pro player in Canada has already earned close to $400,000 so far this year.
The big move of the week goes to Jessica Wallace, who gained seven places in the world rankings. She is currently second on the Symetra Tour money list.

Jared du Toit held on to the No. 1 ranking for the second straight week, but fellow Golf Canada National Team Squad member Blair Hamilton kept pace, picking up three places in the world rankings after finishing in a tie for 12th at the Valspar Collegiate.
No. 4 Branson Ferrier climbed 50 places in world rankings after finishing in a tie for third at the Barona Collegiate Cup.
No. 6 Alistair Docherty finished fourth and helped his top-ranked Chico State team to victory at the UCSD SoCal Intercollegiate, moving up four places in the world rankings. It was his fourth straight Top-5 finish and sixth in eight events this year.
Chris Crisologo climbed 194 spots into the Top-10, moving up from No. 13 to No. 9 in Canada after finishing in a tie for 12th at the CBU Men’s Invitational. It was his sixth straight Top-15 result in as many tournaments this year.
Outside the Top-10, Andrew Harrison moved back into the Top-20 by climbing 250 spots in the world rankings to sit at No. 16 in Canada. The first year player at UBC finished in a tie for sixth at the Battle at Primm. So far this year, the Camrose, Alta., golfer has two Top-10 and three Top-20 results.
Biggest move: A.J. Ewart of Coquitlam, B.C., gained 687 spots in the world rankings following his tie for fourth at the AJGA Winn Grips Heather Farr Classic. He made 18 straight pars in the final round of the tournament and missed the playoff by just one stroke.

Vanessa Ha made the biggest move of the week among the Top-10, picking up 24 spots in the world rankings following her second win of the season at the Sacramento State Invitational. The
sophomore from Montréal claimed the title with a clutch up-and-down for par on the second playoff hole. In the last three weeks, she has gained 109 spots in the world rankings.
Top-ranked Maddie Szeryk maintained her No. 25 world ranking after finishing in a tie for 11th at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational. It was the Golf Canada National Team Squad member’s third Top-15 result this year.
No. 2 ranked Taylor Kim picked up 10 places in the world rankings after finishing in a tie for fifth at the Briar’s Creek Invitational. Her fourth Top-5 result this season earned her a third MAC Golfer of the Week honour.
Biggest Move: Alix Kong of West Vancouver gained 170 spots in the world rankings. The sophomore at Indiana finished in a tie for 70th at the Briar’s Creek Invitational.
