Johannes Grames Nominated For Sport BC Master Athlete Of The Year Award
Johannes Grames of Vancouver has been nominated for the 2015 Sport BC Master Athlete of The Year award. Winners of the various categories are announced at the awards dinner on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at the Vancouver Convention Centre.
An amputee golfer registered with CAGA (Canadian Amputee Golf Association), Grames has represented Canada in international competiton several times and will do so again in 2016 after taking the Senior Division championship in 2015 at the Canadian Amputee & Disabled National Open. He took 2nd Low Canadian Overall and 3rd Overall in the same tournament.
Grames also came in 2nd overall at the NAGA (National Amputee Golf Associaton) Senior Championship in Birmingham, Alabama. Grames has a career 5-1 record in singles in the International Cup for disabled golfers and won the deciding match for the International Team in the last competition.
Grames was nominated by British Columbia Golf President David Atkinson and Kris Jonasson, Executive Director of British Columbia Golf. The 2015 winner was Brian Ellis in Orienteering.
