PGA Of BC Names 2015 Award Recipients

Richmond, BC (PGA OF BC) - On Wednesday October 14, 2015 at the River Rock Casino Resort in Richmond, the PGA of British Columbia recognized the proud achievements of its members at the 2015 PGA of BC Awards Celebration.
Sixteen awards were presented Wednesday night, preceded by a special presentation by the ALS Society of British Columbia. The PGA of BC has supported the Society for 10 years with its Golfathon for ALS fundraisers across the province, and has raised just shy of $1.2 million for the duration of the program.
Below is a complete list of the 2015 PGA of BC Awards recipients:
- Golf Professional of the Year presented by Pin High Golf - Jason Giesbrecht, Royal Colwood Golf Club
- Class "A" Professional of the Year presented by Odlum Brown Limited - Greg Pool, Marine Drive Golf Club
- Jim Gibson Patron of the Year - Jack Croucher
- PGA of BC Media Personnel of the Year - Brad Ziemer, The Vancouver Sun
- Distinguished Service Award presented by DGL Sports - Michael Van Horne, Fernie Golf & Country Club
- Coach of the Year presented by Innovative Fitness - Chris MacDonald, The University of British Columbia
- Golf Facility of the Year presented by FYidoctors - Fairview Mountain Golf Club
- Apprentice of the Year presented by Cleveland Golf/Srixon Canada - Tyrel Griffith, Black Mountain Golf Course
- Sales Representative of the Year presented by Trainwest Management & Consulting - Bob Jackson, TaylorMade & adidas Golf
- Golf Shop of the Year presented by Forestar Golf Sales Ltd. - Shaughnessy Golf & Country Club
- Teacher of the Year presented by FlightScope - Casey Johnson, Copper Point Golf Club
- Professional Development Award presented by DSG Global Inc. - Alan Palmer, Shaughnessy Golf & Country Club
- 2014 Professional Development Program Order of Merit Winner - Jeff Palmer, Olympic View Golf Club
- Junior Golf Leader of the Year presented by Richport Ford - Jeff Palmer, Olympic View Golf Club
- The NGCOA Fore Seasons Golf Award - Woody Bishop, Big Sky Golf Club
Recipients of the PGA of BC scholarship and bursary program were also recognized during the ceremony. Each recipient received $1,000 to be used for growing the game of golf within their communities.

- Forestar Golf Community Leadership Bursary - Jesse Crowe, Salmon Arm Golf Club
