Speith Not The Only Masters Winner As Naka Takes PTM Contest In A Playoff
The results From The Nike Golf Picking The Majors Contest are now tabulated.
The Grand Prize Winner is Omineca Golf & Country Club member Michelle Naka from Vanderhoof, BC .
For only the second time in the six year history of the Picking The Majors (21 separate contests), the winning entry did not make all ten picks correctly.
Both Michelle and Byron King from Wetaskiwin, Alberta scored 220 points out of a possible 240 getting the first nine choices right but neither thought that up-and-coming Canadian amateur Corey Conners would do better than an ailing Mike Weir.
Michelle took the Grand Prize based on her selection of Brooks Koepka for the tie-breaker question. Koepka ended the tournament T33 narrowly besting King’s selection, Danny Willet who finished T38, a shot back.
Michelle will receive a new Nike Vapor Driver, 1 Dozen Nike RZN Black Golf Balls and a Tour Perforated Hat (combined value $500+) while King gets 1 Dozen Nike RZN Black Golf Balls and a Tour Perforated Hat (valued at $75).
Further, as the highest scoring entrant who is a "British Columbia Golf" association member, Ms. Naka also receives a round of golf for four at any central BC area golf course that is an advertiser with Inside Golf Incorporated, the contest sponsor.
