Noah Reddicopp And Maggie Zhang Lead After First Round Of B.C. Bantam Boys & Girls Championships

 BOWEN ISLAND, B.C. (August 28, 2024) — Abbotsford’s Noah Reddicopp fired an even-par 70 and has a four-shot lead after the first round of the B.C. Bantam Boys Championship at Bowen Island Golf Club.

Reddicopp’s round included five birdies and put him in strong position to claim the title in the 36-hole competition for players aged 14 and under.

Reddicopp is coming off a tie for third finish at last week’s B.C. Juvenile Boys (16-and-under ) Championship at Blue Ocean Golf Club in Sechelt. He will carry a four-shot lead over Owen Beaulac of Victoria into Thursday’s final round. Beaulac opened with a four-over 74. Lynn Jiang of Surrey sits third after his five-over 75.

In the Bantam girls competition, Maggie Zhang of Richmond leads by eight shots after firing a three-over 73 that included four birdies. Freya Song of Vancouver, Ari Tur of West Vancouver and Quorra Mi of Burnaby are tied for second after they each shot 81.

In the Novice Boys (12 and under) division, Jackson Wangof Surrey opened with a six-over 76 and has a two-shot lead on West Vancouver’s Jack Guo.

In the Novice Girls division, Quorra Mi has a one-shot lead on Jody Li of Burnaby.
