Riverside Country Club is proud to be hosting the 2015 Canadian Women’s Amateur in Saskatoon from July 27 - 31, 2015.

Conducted by Golf Canada and with presenting sponsors such as RBC, Titleist, Footjoy and CP, the Canadian Women’s Amateur Championship is the premier women’s event in Canada.

The Junior Golf Association of Arizona (JGAA) is hosting the 43rd-annual Junior America’s Cup July 26-30 at Pine Canyon Club in Flagstaff, Ariz.

The competition brings together an elite international field of 18 teams made up of the top four boys representing 12 Western States, Mexico and Canada (Click Here to see teams and rosters).

Some of the best young golfers from the Western U.S., Mexico and Canada are teeing off in Cheyenne July 26-30.

For the first time ever, the Cheyenne Country Club is playing host to the Girls Junior America’s Cup (GJAC). The international golf tournament features 18 teams made up of four 14-17 year old girls.

They are four of the province’s most promising young golfers and from Aug. 7 to 9, they’ll be representing BC at the 47th Eddie Hogan Cup Team Matches at the Riverside Golf & Country Club in Portland, OR.

Roy Kang of Seymour, Sy Lovan of Capilano, Daniel Sun of the Lab@Northview and Andy Kim of the Wolfpack – and playing out of Redwoods in Langley – comprise the u-17 BC team which will try to wrest the team title away from the 2014 champions, Northern California.

OLIVER, BC (July 17) - For four days, Jared du Toit proudly sported his 2013 Champion bag that he earned for winning the 2013 BC Junior Boys title in a playoff over Jordan Lu and Kevin Vigna.

Now he can put that into storage because he has a 2015 Champion bag which signifies his win at the 113th BC Amateur at Fairview Mountain.

It’s almost time for the Girls Junior America’s Cup and the British Columbia team of Shirin Anjarwalla, Mary Parsons, Tiegan Taylor and Natalie Chu will be leaving for Cheyenne, Wyoming on July 24.

The U-17 will be led by non-playing captain Pat Thompson and the team members were given their uniforms after the BC Junior Girls Championship at Cordova Bay in Victoria.

OLIVER, BC (July 16) – Jared du Toit rained down four birdies in his last five holes at Fairview Mountain Thursday afternoon to take a commanding four-stroke lead into the final round of the BC Amateur Championship.

OLIVER, BC (July 15) - Point Grey Golf & Country Club’s Stu Macdonald made an eagle on his final shot of the day en route to a (-6) round of 66 that has him leading the 113th BC Amateur at Fairview Mountain with a (-9) 135 score.

Macdonald overhauled first-round co-leader Jared du Toit, who had a second consecutive day of (-4) 68 to sit at (-8) 136. Macdonald had 115 yards to go on the par-4 9th and hit his 54-degree wedge shot to 5 feet and then watched it roll into the cup for a closing eagle.

The first round of the 113th BC Amateur Championship at Fairview Mountain is in the books and while three players, Jared du Toit, Ian Kim and Conner Kozak share the lead at (-4) 68, there’s six players within one stroke and 17 players who shot under par.

With three rounds still to go in the 72-hole stroke play tournament, it’s still anybody’s tournament to win.

Two years ago, when Jared du Toit was graduating from Selkirk Secondary, he didn’t have many options for his post-secondary golf career.

It was a stroke of good luck that John Means at Idaho saw something in du Toit and got two solid seasons out of his leader. Not only did du Toit lead the Vandals in scoring (69.61), he won three times in his sophomore season.

Means also told du Toit he was in the top two or three players he’s ever coached and not only did Means mean that, he knew that it might be time to let du Toit spread his wings.

And those wings will take du Toit to Tempe, AZ this August, where he’s transferring from Idaho to Arizona State for his junior season.

Michelle Kim may be running out of room in her trophy case. The 17-year-old Surrey native won her second straight British Columbia Golf event with an overpowering final day at Cordova Bay Golf Course. LAB@Northview golfer Jake Scarrow overcame a five-stroke deficit in just 10 holes to win the British Columbia Junior Boys' Championship Presented by Canadian Direct Insurance at the Park Meadows Course at the Osoyoos Golf Club.

The incoming University of Idaho freshman shot a final round (-3) 69 to finish at (-13) 275 and beat second- and third-round leader Zaahidali (Ziggy) Nathu by two strokes.

On a day when Zaahidali (Ziggy) Nathu extended his lead to five strokes after 54 holes of the British Columbia Junior Boys' Championship Presented by Canadian Direct Insurance, it was Jake Scarrow who wrote the best story at the Park Meadows Course at the Osoyoos Golf Club.

Scarrow’s bogey-free round of (-9) 63 included nine birdies and no bogeys, as the incoming University of Idaho freshman broke the previous course record of (-8) 64 set by Justin Wurz on April 24, 2010.
