RICHMOND, June 7, 2025 — The Lower Mainland welcomed a wave of new players and familiar faces to the game of golf as the Women’s Golf Celebration, hosted by the PGA of British Columbia in partnership with adidas Golf Canada, wrapped up a successful run from June 3–7. The Celebration was part of Golf Canada’s national She Plays Golf Festival, a coast-to-coast initiative focused on growing participation among women and girls.

The festival took place at clubs across the province and featured a wide range of activities—from Golf 101 beginner clinics and “Try Golf” drop-ins to scramble formats and Women in Leadership panels. It provided a gateway for newcomers to learn the game in a welcoming environment while offering veteran players a chance to connect, mentor, and grow community.

At the heart of the Celebration was a shared commitment between PGA of B.C. professionals and Golf Canada to make the sport more inclusive. By aligning the provincial event with She Plays Golf, organizers elevated its impact and visibility. “Through this initiative, we want to celebrate shared values and empower PGA of B.C. members to lead with purpose and confidence both on and off the course,” said Jeffrey Feltrin, General Manager of adidas Golf Canada.

As a bonus, participating clubs across four provincial regions—Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island, Interior, and the North—were entered into a draw for one of four $750 bursaries to support future women’s golf programming.

A standout moment came in an interview with Stephanie Vanderpas, Director of Instruction at Point Grey G&CC, who emphasized the importance of visibility and mentorship. “When women see themselves represented in leadership, it changes their perspective on what’s possible.”

The PGA of B.C.’s role in advancing She Plays Golf in B.C. will continue through its year-round programming.
