Vancouver, B.C. – With over 60 entrants competing for limited spots, the two day event that ran Mon, May 26 - Tue, May 27 proved to be a resounding success. The field featured players with handicaps from near scratch up to 12.6, setting the stage for an exciting and competitive event.
The tournament kicked off with wet conditions on Day 1 at Fraserview GC, but the weather didn’t dampen spirits—or scores—as several players carded eagles.
Sunshine and clear skies greeted players at the Vancouver Golf Club on Day 2, setting the stage for strong finishes.
Aram Choi emerged as the overall amateur champion for Zone 3, firing a tournament low 72 on the final day to finish with a two-day total of 149. She would be matched by Ling Yu (Katherine) from Zone 4's Point Great GC who would win the Zone 4 title.
Close behind Choi was Lucy Park, who claimed second place in Zone 3 with a solid 156. Both players will now represent Zone 3 at the Women’s Amateur and Mid-Amateur Championship in Victoria.
In the Senior division, Karen Pultz secured first place with a score of 164, narrowly edging out Diane McFarlane who finished at 165. Pultz and McFarlane will head to Whistler to compete in the Women’s Senior/Super Senior Championship, proudly representing Zone 3.
In recognition of their achievements, all four winners received $500 from Zone 3 to help cover entry and travel expenses.
Organizers praised both host clubs, Fraserview and Vancouver Golf Club, for their exceptional support and smooth operations throughout the tournament.
