CASTLEGAR, BC — The 2026 British Columbia Girls & Boys U17 Championship is set to take place in the Kootenays, with Castlegar Golf Club hosting the province’s top junior players from August 18 to 21, 2026.
The BC U17 Championship has long served as a launching pad for many of the province’s rising junior golfers. Open to players aged 16 and under, this 54-hole stroke play event, with a cut after 36 holes, traditionally attracts a full field of up to 120 boys and girls. Entry is open to golfers with a verified index of 10.0 or better for boys and 18.0 or better for girls.
Located in the heart of the Kootenays, Castlegar Golf Club has earned a strong reputation as one of the region’s most consistently well-conditioned championship venues. Its 18-hole layout, known for tree-lined fairways, elevation movement, and greens that reward precision, has previously hosted both provincial and national competition.

Castlegar’s course offers a balanced challenge for junior competitors, blending scoring opportunities with strategically demanding holes. Its setting, surrounded by forested hillsides, crisp mountain air, and the beautiful rivers, adds to what is expected to be a memorable championship atmosphere.
