NANOOSE BAY, B.C. - BC Golf has selected Fairwinds Golf Club as the Host Site for the British Columbia U15 Boys & Girls Championship. The official Practice Round is August 5 and competitive rounds are August 6 and 7.

“Fairwinds has been a staple of the Provincial Championship schedule for several years and its staff and membership have always welcomed competitors and guests with open arms,” said Jerome Goddard, Director of Rules & Competitions at British Columbia Golf. “This event will be a showcase of some our Province’s best junior players, and a testament to Fairwinds’ championship pedigree.”

Travis Bush, Head Professional at Fairwinds Golf Club, shared his excitement, saying, "Fairwinds Golf Club is very excited to be hosting the British Columbia Golf U15 Championship. Watching the next generation of elite junior boys and girls compete at a provincial championship level will be both exciting and rewarding for our staff and members. We are always grateful for the opportunity to host provincial championships, and providing these young athletes with a stage to compete on is something we value highly."

Bush went on to say, "Fairwinds is the type of golf course that you don’t just play, you experience. The layout demands creativity, patience, and precise shot-making, rewarding thoughtful strategy over raw power. We look forward to seeing how the next generation of players navigate the unique challenges the course presents, while also enjoying everything Nanoose Bay and the Fairwinds Community has to offer during their time here.

"Hosting events of this calibre is something we take great pride in at Fairwinds Golf Club. It reflects the strength of our facility, our team, and our ongoing commitment to supporting the development of junior golf in British Columbia. We look forward to welcoming players, families and officials to Fairwinds for what promises to be an outstanding championship.”

Fairwinds Golf Club, situated just north of Nanaimo, offers a challenging and fair layout amongst an oceanfront community. The most recent Provincial Championship at Fairwinds was the 2022 British Columbia Women’s Senior, won by Nanoose Bay’s Shelly Stouffer.
