BATHURST, AUGUST 15, 2025 (excerpted from Golf Canada)

The 2025 Canadian Junior Boys Championship, presented by BDO, concluded with BC players taking four of the ten top spots highlighted by Oakley Mayner of Kelowna who delivered a dramatic second-round 64—tying the course record at Gowan Brae—elevating him to solo second place finish at −5. “I was just really patient with my putter... eventually putts had to start dropping and they did today,” he reflected after the final round.

Team BC Coach Conner Kozak was very happy with the strong showing by the TeamBC athletes, "(It) was a great week in Bathurst. Great to see all of our TeamBC athletes make the cut as well, awesome experience for our younger players. Lots of Team BC and BC players up at the top. An what a great week for Oakley, he really showed up ready to play this week. Just needed that 64 in rounds 1 or 2."

Kudos must go to Dawson Lew of Toronto, Ont., who claimed a historic sweep by winning both the Junior Silver Cup and the Juvenile Boys Jack Bailey Trophy thanks to a stellar final round of 2‑under‑par 68—becoming the 12th player ever to win both divisions in the same year. Lew’s rounds of 66 and 65 throughout the opening 36 holes of this week’s Inter-Provincial Team Championship helped clinch Team Ontario a four-stroke win over Team British Columbia (B.C.)

Other B.C. players made significant impressions. Austin Krahn of Christina Lake shared the first-round lead alongside Lew and Ontario’s William  Bellavance, all posting 66s, setting up a thrilling chase from the outset.
