KELOWNA, July 15, 2025 (compiled from Castanet, Victoria News, KelownaNow, iNFOnews) - A string of overnight break-ins at three Central Okanagan golf course pro shops has local RCMP warning businesses and the public to remain vigilant as they search for a suspect.
The thefts began on June 5 at Shannon Lake Golf Course, followed by a second incident on June 16 at Gallagher’s Canyon, and a third on July 11 at The Okanagan Golf Club. In all three cases, high-end merchandise—particularly Scotty Cameron putters and golf bags—was stolen, and the suspect was captured on surveillance fleeing on an e-bike.
RCMP say the incidents appear connected, given the similar method of entry and quick getaway.
“These thefts happened during the overnight hours and appear targeted,” RCMP Cpl. Guillaume Tanguay said in an interview with Castanet. “We’re asking anyone with information or video footage in the area to contact us.”
Police have released a surveillance image of the suspect and are encouraging residents, especially those living near local golf courses or using e-bikes at night, to report any suspicious activity. No arrests have been made, and the total value of stolen goods has not been released, though officials believe it to be substantial.
Each course is taking additional security steps, including more cameras and patrols after hours.
Anyone with information is asked to call Kelowna RCMP at 250‑762‑3300 or leave an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers at 1‑800‑222‑8477.
