PRINCE GEORGE, July 17, 2025 — The Prince George golf community teed up for a meaningful June, with two major charity events raising vital funds for children’s health and local medical care.
A highlight was the return of the Prince George Cougars Alumni Charity Golf Tournament, which drew fans, sponsors, and former players to the Prince George Golf & Curling Club. The tournament raised funds in support of the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation, helping to purchase critical healthcare equipment for the region.
“This annual event continues to make a huge impact in our community by combining sport, camaraderie and fundraising,” organizers shared in a social media post. Images posted by the Spirit of the North show strong turnout and support across the day, including a packed silent auction and player meet-and-greets.
Meanwhile, on June 8, the Prince George RCMP joined forces with the Cops for Cancer Tour de North team to launch the first-ever Tour de North Charity Golf Tournament at Alder Hills Golf Course. The sold-out event featured 4-person teams in a scramble format, a $10,000 hole-in-one challenge, a silent auction, and lunch.
“The golf tournament is being held to help raise funds for this year’s team of riders, who will be setting off from Prince George on September 12,” RCMP Cpl. Jennifer Cooper said in an interview with MyPrinceGeorgeNow.com. “They’ll cover more than 700 kilometres by bike to Prince Rupert, raising money for Camp Goodtimes.”
Camp Goodtimes offers transformative summer experiences for kids with cancer, combining fun and challenge in a medically supervised environment.
