Richmond, BC (PGA of BC) - The PGA of BC, the Canadian Mental Health Association British Columbia, and Ledgeview Golf Club professional Brady Stead are thrilled to announce the 2025 Teach-a-thon for Mental Health, an expansion of Brady’s Steady Golf Teach-a-thon for Mental Health.

While competing in Europe in 2018 with hopes of reaching the European Tour, Brady’s cousin died by suicide. In support of mental health initiatives during this time, Brady started wearing a green ribbon on his hat to raise awareness about mental illness and mental health challenges. Since this day, he has also lost friends and colleagues who struggled with mental health challenges.

In 2023, Brady launched the Steady Golf Teach-a-thon for Mental Health. This initiative saw Brady teach lessons from dawn to dusk, with 100% of lessons revenue and donations going to the Canadian Mental Health Association. In just two years, he raised $9,870 to provide help and hope to those struggling with mental illness.

New for 2025, all PGA of BC professionals can join the PGA of BC’s Teach-a-thon for Mental Health and change the lives of people in your local community living with mental health challenges!

The PGA of BC and the Canadian Mental Health Association are teaming up to bring golf lessons to keen learners, while also supporting local mental health services. The Teach-a-thon is an exciting fundraising competition for all PGA of BC professionals and their venues!

Between August 22 and September 30, 2025, we are asking pros to donate some of their time, with all proceeds from golf lesson fees and member donations directed to your local Canadian Mental Health Association Branch.

Every dollar raised for your local community, will stay in your local community, and provide vital support to individuals facing mental health challenges.

Participants in the 2025 Teach-a-thon for Mental Health will earn Community Engagement Program points.
