British Columbia Golf

She Plays Golf is an initiative led by Golf Canada focused on creating more opportunities for women and girls to learn, play, and enjoy the game.

The program introduces new players to golf in a fun, welcoming, and judgement-free environment, while also helping current players stay engaged and connected to the sport.

As part of this initiative, British Columbia Golf is proud to partner with industry leaders, clubs, members, and associations to host and support the following She Plays Golf Festival events.

SATURDAY, MAY 30

→LPGA Amateurs: Bowen Island Ladies Golf Day | 10:35 AM – 4:30 PM

The LPGA Amateur Golf Association is the recreational amateur arm of the LPGA: a welcoming golf community built for women of all ages and abilities to connect, learn, play, and belong. With 120+ chapters across North America, the BC Lower Mainland–Island Region chapter brings that community right to our own backyard through organized leagues, clinics, golf travel experiences, and free access to LPGA Tour events in Canada and the US.

Membership also comes with local perks: dedicated tee times at Metro Vancouver courses exclusive to members (no more chasing availability), discounts on green fees and booking fees depending on the course, and deals on apparel, equipment, and everyday products and services beyond golf. It's a community worth knowing about. Learn more and explore membership here.

This She Plays Golf Festival event is sold out, but if you're looking to get out on the course with the LPGA Amateurs soon, there's another opportunity coming up quickly. They're hosting a Golf Day at Olympic View Golf Club in Victoria on Sunday, June 14th, and spots are still available. Click here to register.

THURSDAY, JUNE 4

→Birdies Women's Golf Day: 90s LPGA Throwback @ Gleneagles | 3:45 PM

Founded in 2019 by Courtney Campbell, PGA of Canada Head Professional at Gleneagles Golf Course, Birdies Babes Golf has grown into one of the Lower Mainland's most vibrant corners of the women's game. Held each June, Birdies Women's Day is a full celebration of women in golf: part tournament, part social, and entirely welcoming.

This year brings together 72 women for a shotgun-start round, a putt-off, a guest appearance for a chat on the first tee, on-course activations, and an après on the fairway patio to close it out, all with a 90s LPGA fashion theme. Through partnerships with local businesses and sponsors (this year includes The Mad Greek Food Truck, Organika, DeVille Park Royal, VannyVee Sports, Cinco Drink Co, Refine Fitness, She's Got Next, Peau De Loup, Glory Juice, and Callaway), Birdies Babes Golf continues to make the game more accessible while building the kind of community that keeps women coming back.

This event is sold out, but if you haven't found the Birdies Babes Golf community yet, this is your introduction. Learn more and follow along at birdiesgolf.ca.
