Kelowna, B.C. Plans for Kelowna Springs Golf Course are evolving after developer Denciti Penno Limited Partnership announced an updated proposal in April via a dedicated website. The new proposal would reduce the current 18-hole layout to nine holes while repurposing the remainder of the 106-acre property into commercial and public uses. Then last month, Denciti submitted their plans to the city.
Under the new vision, the eastern portion of the site—comprising 51 acres—would continue as a front-nine golf course with a clubhouse and limited facilities. The western 55-acre parcel would be rezoned and redeveloped into an industrial business park, supporting up to 700 jobs, and including a pickleball dome, restored green space, natural habitat areas, stormwater retention features, and new public trails.
“Denciti has carefully considered community feedback and incorporated valuable suggestions into our development proposal... We believe that Denciti has made a credible and genuine commitment to meet with interested parties...” the applicant stated. (Source: Applicant’s planning submission)
A curving, winding subdivision line would separate the golf course from the business park, allowing the front-nine course to remain intact while the remainder transitions to growth-focused uses.
The developer stated that continued full-scale golf operations are costly in terms of maintenance and irrigation, and that much of the current landscaping uses non-native plants and water features that limit wildlife access. In contrast, the redevelopment plan emphasizes native species planting, improved stormwater systems, and more publicly accessible natural amenities.
If approved, this model would allow the golf course to remain viable—currently operating under a one-year lease for 2025—while the business park and recreation space are gradually developed.
