The Province of BC proclaimed October 5th to 11th, 2025 as KidSport BC Powered by Sport BC Week.
Acknowledging KidSport’s impact to help level the playing field for kids in need across the province.
For many Canadian families, the rising cost of sport is an ever-growing barrier. As many as 1 in 2 Canadian kids are kept out of organized sport due to financial constraints. With support from the Province of BC and many other generous donors and partners, KidSport BC works to break down those financial barriers by providing grants that help cover the cost of sport registration fees.
“Sport can change a child’s life, but only if they’re given the chance to play,” says Angela Crowther, Director of KidSport BC. “KidSport exists to help level the playing field so that every child—regardless of their financial circumstances—can experience the power of sport. Sport skills are life skills, and every child should have the opportunity to play, regardless of their financial situation.”
