In this edition of the British Columbia Golf newsletter, BC Golf's Brad Ziemer speaks with Langley, BC's Amy Lee who played her way into the U.S. Women's Open in a local qualifier. Lee joins two other BC women who qualified for the prestigious event, as both Lauren Kim and Anna Huang also punched their ticket via a qualifier held at Rainier Golf and Country Club in Seattle, Wash.

Last month we reported on the hosting of the PNGA's Lamey Cup at the venerable Victoria Golf Club. The last time the Lamey Cup was hosted at Victoria Golf Club was in 2007 with the team from Oregon winning the title. BC's last victories had come as back-to-back titles in 2013 and 2014. Well, following the competition this year, those dates no longer represent BC's latest victory as they utilized 'home field' to their full advantage.

This week Golden Eagle GC in Pitt Meadows will be the host site for the 40th North Pacific Junior Girls team event from May 21-23. The three-day competition will feature the finest amateur junior girl players from Oregon, Washington, British Columbia and Alberta. With an established rotation, this year’s event is being hosted by British Columbia Golf and the introduction of a new format along with the addition of a team from Alberta to the competition.

With the BC Golf championship season coming up fast, we have the official announcement of our host venue for the BC U17 Championships being held in BC's interior this year.

Lastly but certainly not least, British Columbia Golf is seeking a motivated and talented summer intern for the Player Development Department. Details on how to apply can be found in the announcement below.
