| In this edition of the British Columbia Golf newsletter Brad Ziemer has an in-depth interview with BC's Leah John as she embarks on her LPGA Tour career. If Brad's interview with Leah is any indication, she'll be a wonderful representative for BC and Canada in the top women's professional ranks. With the golf championship season on the not too distant horizon you can check out the calendar for BC Golf's Provincial Championships, the Zone 3 & 4 Jr. Girls Spring Series and Golf Canada's 2026 Championship events. Those in the 55 and over age range (and there are more and more of us every year) should look into the 55+ BC Games being held in Kamloops this year. In addition to high quality competition, the Games experience includes social events, which highlight the host community, and much more. And, of course, golf is a major component of the Games. BC's Lauren Kim has received her 3rd invitation to the Augusta National Women's Amateur and is looking to improve upon her fine 14th place showing in 2024 at the home of The Masters. Four-time PGA TOUR winner Notah Begay's Canadian Junior National Golf Championship is offering competitors a route towards elite competition and ultimately, the chance to play against the best juniors across the globe on television. For the 4th consecutive year, juniors will have the opportunity to qualify locally at a NB3 Provincial qualifier. From there, the players will have the opportunity to compete at the Western and/or Eastern Canadian Championship broadcasted on TSN+ and RDS television, in hopes to make it to the third and final stage, the NB3 National Championship on the Golf Channel in Kinder, Louisiana, USA. |
