Congratulations To Tom Cade, 2016 NWGMA Distinguished Service Award winner

The 2016 Distinguised Service Award winner, as honoured by the Northwest Golf Media Association, is Tom Cade.

Cade is the long-time editor of Pacific Northwest Golfer magazine, which is published by the Pacific Northwest Golf Association (PNGA). He is also the senior director of communications for the PNGA and the Washington State Golf Association.

From 2010-2015, Cade served as president of the Northwest Golf Media Association, and during his tenure he instigated the creation of the NWGMA website and wrote and managed all of its content, spearheaded the creation and implementation of the NWGMA Scholarship, and helped create the association’s “Local Legend” award. He also served as the NWGMA managing director in 2005-2006.

From 2002-2007, Cade was the event manager of the consumer Seattle Golf & Travel Show, and was the event manager of the Merrill Lynch Invitational fundraising tournament in 2002 and 2003.

From 2004-2006 he produced television commercials for golf resorts.

He is a regular member of the Golf Writers Association of America, and has written features for Golfweek magazine, the PGA of America, the United States Golf Association, numerous websites, and many tournament and event programs.

Tom was also the editor and publisher of America’s St. Andrews, the best-selling book about Chambers Bay and the lead-up to the 2015 U.S. Open.

He serves on the selection committees for the Pacific Northwest Golf Hall of Fame and the Golf Hall of Fame of British Columbia.
