For Immediate Release

VICTORIA, B.C. (September 14, 2016) – Tournament Organizers announced today that Canadian PGA TOUR Star Graham DeLaet will join the 2016 Pacific Links Bear Mountain Championship to host the junior clinic for kids, held at The Westin Bear Mountain Golf Resort & Spa on Saturday, September 24th.

DeLaet is known to be one of the game’s best ball strikers, while also possessing one of golf’s most colorful personalities on and off the course. After recording three top-10 finishes on the 2016 PGA TOUR schedule, DeLaet went on to represent Canada for golf in the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

DeLaet will once again represent his native country at the prestigious World Cup of Golf in November.

Off the course, DeLaet has launched several initiatives including his own blue collar craft beer line, Prairie Baard, as well as continuing his philanthropic initiatives through the Graham & Ruby DeLaet Foundation’s charitable work to improve children’s health and wellness and support junior golf across North America.

DeLaet is also an ambassador for Golf Canada’s Golf in Schools campaign – delivering golf equipment and educational support materials to teachers and schools across Canada to get kids in the game.

DeLaet had his breakthrough year on the PGA TOUR in 2013, placing 8th in the FedExCup Playoffs, and ending the year with a revolutionary performance in his first Presidents Cup International team appearance. DeLaet continued this impressive play in 2014, with six Top-10 finishes, and three Top-10 results in 2015.

“I am excited to come back to Victoria to be part of the Pacific Links Bear Mountain Championship Junior Clinic,” said DeLaet. “I have always been a big supporter of golf at the grassroots level and believe that it is important to introduce the game to kids so they can start learning the sport early, and we can ultimately grow the game of golf in Canada. This should be a really fun day for the kids – I am looking forward to it.”

Junior golfers (aged 17 and under) will receive free admission into the event, from Wednesday, September 21st – Sunday, September 25th, as well free admission to the junior clinic on Saturday, September 24th, when accompanied by a paying/ticketed adult (donations are also being accepted for the Event’s Official Charity Partner – Help Fill a Dream).

Junior golfers will have the opportunity to receive instruction and mentorship from DeLaet during the Junior Clinic, presented by The Greenard Group, participate in an autograph session with PGA TOUR Champions professionals competing in the Pacific Links Bear Mountain Championship, as well as watch the Legends of the game practice and play during the Saturday championship round.
