March Meadows creator and Dawn Coe Jones teacher Norm Boden has died.

An avid golfer from an early age, Bdoen turned pro at 19 years old while at Gorge Vale Golf Course in Victoria. He was the first hired pro at Chemainus Golf Course from 1961 to 1965 and then greenskeeper at Cowichan G&CC for 6 years.

His dream was to build a course of his own so after reviewing many locations he chose property in Honeymoon Bay (XXX) and proceeded to design and build March Meadows Golf Course in 1970. He worked there as pro and head greenskeeper for over 20 years.

His proudest accomplishment at the course was instructing a young junior player by the name of Dawn Coe (now Dawn Coe-Jones).

Norm leaves behind his wife Genny of 56 years and four children. There will be no formal service by family request. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
