The Masters Tradition Honoured In GGT Tournament In Burnaby

For Immediate Release

Burnaby, B.C. - In the tradition of The Masters Tournament played annually in Augusta, Georgia, the Grizzly Golf Tour (GGT) announces the first Major of the season.

The 36-hole GGT Masters is set for March 31 and April 1 at Burnaby’s Central Park and Kensington Park Pitch & Putt golf courses. The tournament is open to boys and girls ages 5 to 15 years with competition in five divisions.

“This is our first Major of the season and should be a lot fun,” said GGT Tournament Operations manager Brad Ewart. “We are doing our best to give the young contestants the feeling of playing in the Masters Tournament – not in Augusta but in Burnaby.”

The entrance to the courses will feature a walk up Magnolia Lane, holes named Azalea and Firethorn, and a challenging threesome of holes nicknamed Amen Corner.

The first round is at Central Park pitch & putt, located near Metrotown, a charming layout in a forest of towering evergreens. The holes are set up to play from 50 yards to 120 yards to provide a fun and enjoyable challenge for all competitors.

The final round of the GGT Masters will be played at the more challenging Kensington Park course, with longer holes playing up-and-down over gently rolling terrain.

This tournament will fill up quickly. Contestants are advised to go to www.grizzlygolftour.com to find out more and to register.
