    Niagara Falls, Ont. (Golf Canada) - Play at the 2014 Canadian Junior Boys Championship at Legends on the Niagara was temporarily suspended today due to dangerous playing conditions after strong storm cells rolled through the Niagara Falls, Ont. area Wednesday. Play was suspended for the first time at 11:12 AM EDT, and was suspended for the day at 4:15 PM EDT after an attempted resumption of play.

    Niagara Falls, Ont. (Golf Canada) – Canada’s top junior males are headed to Niagara Falls for the 76th playing of the Canadian Junior Boys Championship where players will compete for the Junior Boys national title. This year’s field features a strong contingent of players, including members of the Team Canada Development Squad, provincial champions, and top finishers from all six of the 2014 CN Future Links Championships.

  • Team Canada’s Pendrith, Svensson and Conners added to RBC Canadian Open field

    OAKVILLE, ON – Golf Canada and RBC are pleased to extend three players exemptions into the 2014 RBC Canadian Open at The Royal Montreal Golf Club through Canada’s National Amateur Team program.

    Among those extended tournament invites are Taylor Pendrith of Richmond Hill, Ont., Adam Svensson of Surrey, B.C. and Corey Conners of Listowel, Ont.

    RICHMOND, BC (British Columbia Golf) – Over the past few years there has been a troubling trend across Canada of declining participation in junior golf. In an effort to spark interest in the game and inspire a new generation of golfers, the National Golf Course Owners Association Canada created “Take a Kid to the Course”.

    Almost everyone who takes golf seriously agrees that the future of the game of golf  lies with developing new junior golfers. After all, as our current golfers age and drop out of the game, we need to replace them with younger golfers who will (hopefully) stay with the game over a longer time frame.
