RICHMOND, BC (British Columbia Golf) – Over the past few years there has been a troubling trend across Canada of declining participation in junior golf. In an effort to spark interest in the game and inspire a new generation of golfers, the National Golf Course Owners Association Canada created “Take a Kid to the Course”.
Kid’s aged 16 and under accompanied by one paying adult (per child) can play for free at hundreds of participating courses across the country from July 7-13, 2014.
The campaign offers a fun and affordable way for families to spend time together, learn to play golf and hopefully generate interest in the game in kids who may not normally get out to the course. The campaign will also work to boost awareness of junior golf programs and clinics that are offered at the various golf courses.
Check out the participating courses for a course in your area if you have a “junior” in your life that you’d like to introduce to the game of golf. For more information on Take a Kid to the Course, visit their website.
